about

The first jig was composed by County Fermanagh fiddle player, Sean Nugent. Ryan learned the jig from playing in the Sean Nugent Memorial Céilí band in his younger years. Ruadhrai originally heard ‘Charlie Hunter’s’ from fiddle playing brothers, Mark, and Brian Lavery, of Ballymaguigan, County Derry. The last jig was composed by County Cavan fiddle player, Ed Reavy, and was sourced in the late 1980s from Ruadhrai’s fiddle teacher, Theresa Kealey; originally from London but now resides in Dungiven, County Derry.
